Physio Effect Trail Running Group - Saturday 23rd November - The Luss Horseshoe

The Luss Horseshoe.jpg

Route and Stats:

We will run from the car park at Luss, crossing the A82 on the footbridge and taking the road gradually for 2 miles up Glen Luss. At the top of the Glen we will head steeply uphill to approx. 2000ft where we will run along the top facing the Arrochar Alps, Ben Lomond and Loch Lomond before descending back down to Luss via Beinn Dubh.

Distance and elevation: 7.3 miles and 2300ft of elevation

Terrain: This is a short section of road, then mostly grass and some boggy bits along the top. There is nothing technical underfoot but due to the slippy nature of the grass, trail shoes are required. This may be quite cold up the top and wet depending on the weather. Dress appropriately for warmth and everyone will be required to bring a waterproof coat, buff/hat and gloves. Water and something with approximately 200 calories to eat is also advisable.

Who for: This is a hill run for beginners and intermediate levels. We will guide the group at a pace where everyone is comfortable and feels like they learn a new route and off road running skills while also getting a workout in.

Duration: 1 hour 45mins - 2 hours 30mins

Meeting point: Luss at the front of the main car park beside the shop at 09:00

Good to know: The session will be led by Jonny Kilpatrick
