What is the Pilates Reformer?

You may recognise this piece of equipment in a Pilates studio.
Developed by Joseph Pilates himself, it is a large machine that consists of a sliding carriage with springs, bars and straps. You can lie, sit, kneel, stand or sit on it while performing exercises that target your core muscles. It's not as easy as it looks!
