Please explain the service you provide in your own words: My main background lies within sports massage therapy. This involves carrying out a variety of soft/deep tissue work and utilising a variety of specialist techniques inclusive of trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and muscle energy techniques. Using the culmination of these techniques can assist in helping the everyday athlete move and feel better.

I also work partially as clinic receptionist. This involves a variety of tasks including taking bookings over the phone, using the system provided to book clients making it accessible and easier for the staff members, welcoming clients to the clinic, and directing them to their assigned practitioner.

What's the best thing about doing what you do?: The best thing about my job is continuously being able to improve and adapt my massage skills. As I am constantly working with a wide variety of individuals I can use specific techniques that I know will work well for individuals, whether it’s from general muscle tension or a mobility limitation. This allows me to progress in the field and there is not a better feeling than making a difference to someone’s day.

What excites you about working at Physio Effect?: What I enjoy about Physio Effect is the family environment. I look forward to the future as I hope to develop as an individual with the help of all my colleagues that are all very like-minded, friendly, and organized people. This is a new beginning which I cannot wait to see where it takes me. I hope that within the next year or so I build up a strong clientele that are comfortable returning as I hope to provide the best service possible.

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing? My main interest outside of work is CrossFit training, most specifically the Olympic Weightlifting aspect of it. Using both of these as a fitness tool carries over massively to everyday activities that are essential for longevity. Outside of the gym, I love coffee, anywhere that sells a nice americano, I’m there. In addition, I enjoy exploring nearby areas in and around Glasgow. When the weather’s ‘nice’ I tend to try climb hills around the Loch Lomond area, and I plan to complete as many Munros as possible within the next couple of years.
